A Child, A Madman, A Genius.

The idea is to destroy our logical minds so that we are able to dive deep into the ocean of endless possibilities.– Daksh

As kids, we used to dream the unbelievable(as of now) like being an astronaut, being a pilot, building a huge building, being a princess, having a huge garden to let children play freely, being a Pokemon master, being the Red Ranger (Power-Rangers).
I know it escalated quickly.
Some of it does sound “stupid” or as I say, kiddish, but it was amazing to think about it.

Now, here we are, just thinking of making a living (which loosely translates to- making enough money to sustain life).

Isn’t it sad?

Ask a person who is about to die, what does he regret?
He will probably talk about all the things he hasn’t done than the ones he did. Even the worst things he did aren’t as bad as the regret he is having of not chasing his dreams. He had these huge doubts if he will ever be able to achieve them and so on.

Just think about it: how does this transition take place from having huge dreams of changing the world, as a kid, to earning money to pay your kid’s college fees, as an adult?

We all have a hero in us who is looking to make this world a better place. He is selfless, has integrity and everything to create a revolutionary change.
You must be wondering that this is BS.
Doesn’t work in real life. Rubbish. Grow up.

Listen to this:

We ALL HAVE everything in us. We all look around for a change. We have to look inside. We need to look carefully, sharply, childlike, turning every stone to find what we really are and what we really want.

As we grew up our goals became more “practical” and “real” which will eventually give us a selfish and regretful life.
This transition in life goals is brutal to humanity.

The society (i.e., us) has put barriers around these kids who had the power to think big. We have put our insecurities and fears around these great minds. And trust me, these fears will feel like the warmest blankets to you. Only, later, to be realised as the fire which is burning our bridges to greatness. We have taken, from them, the biggest gift a human has: The Power To THINK.

I am not saying that thinking about money is bad. Money is great. It is a great facilitator.

But life isn’t just about it. Life is about abundance and not about scarcity. Life is about being humble and kind and not only about 12 bungalows and 20 cars. Have is though. It is great to have it. But think about the people. Think about each other.

We need these heroes in ourselves to lead us. Not just for ourselves but for this earth and its people and all the creatures to move forward.

All the geniuses around us are thinking the unthinkable, believing the unbelievable and doing enough to bring a revolution.

They are special because they are resilient enough, think without letting the insecurities and barriers in, live in abundance of thoughts, show gratitude towards anything and everything, aim at improving others without thinking about favour back, and are less result oriented and more reclined towards loving the journey.

These are not cut from a different piece of cloth. They have the same blood running in them as ours. They were sewn with the same thread as of ours.

Think big. Start small.

Charity begins at home. Bring small improvements in your life to reflect your surroundings.

At last, I want to share a quote by Steven Pressfield which has largely inspired me to rethink my goals and write this blog down and share my insights with you.

He says, “A CHILD has no trouble believing the unbelievable, nor does the GENIUS or the MADMAN. It’s only you and I, with our big brains and our tiny hearts, who doubt and overthink and hesitate.”

If you have made it this far, I am really thankful to you. If you liked it, share it with your friends. Do check out my other blogs if you haven’t already. You might like them. Subscribe to my blog.

I just want to change the world to be a better place. One person at a time. One day at a time.
